Pahawang Island, Lampung

Before i decided to went to this place i have a bit struggle between two option should i go to Tunda island or to Pahawang, i asked friends which place i have to go mostly they suggest me to go to Pahawang. I prefer to go alone as a backpacker rather than go with open trip but after i google and collect information there is hardly any transport there so i had no choice, i join in open trip. 

9 o'clock at night the driver pick me up in Lippo Karawaci to get to the harbor, it very long time 2 hours to the harbor and wait for shipping unloading first around 01.00 am we leave from Merak harbor to Bakauheni Lampung harbor.

I meet new friends along the trip there is nothing better than having friend a lot friends. Things easy when we join in open trip like this is everything is set, the car, lodging, food.
At 5 o'clock in the morning we arrive in Bakauheuni harbor, bus has been wait for us coming, toward to ketapang. in ketapang we have breakfast and changed clothes just in case you want to jump in the ocean on the way to Pahawang Island.

We still need to go with car to our destination it takes 2 hours. we arrive change clothes have breakfast and still continue with small boat it take like 30 minute.

The underwater is not so bad is not really amaze me but is good it just fun.

Here is direction if you plan to go solo traveling :

1. From Bakauheni harbor took bus to Bandar Lampung then stop in Rajabasa Terminal it take 2 hours with cost around IDR 25K. Took blue angkot to Rajabasa - Tanjung Karang it take about 30 minutes depends the traffic condition then stop in Pasar bawah Ramayan then took angkot again with maroon or purple color to Tanjung Karang - Teluk Betung then stop in Gudang Garam then took pick up cars to Ketapang harbor it take 1 hours with cost around IDR 10K, for angkot cost per each around IDR 5K.

2. If you want use your own transportation from Bakauheni harbor go to Bunderan Gajah in Bandar Lampung go straight toward Teluk Betung then to Padang Cermin/Way Ratai. There is signpost that can help you to not get lost. The same lane can reach from Terminal Rajabasa with estimation time around 1-1,5 hour. From Ketapang harbor you can continue to Pahawang Island it take time 45-60 minute. Along the way you will be presented with a blue and green ocean, towering hills and beach sands in Kelagian Island which around Pahawang.
